The Company

Elise Patton

Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Portsmouth, NH, Elise began her training at Ballet New England's Center for Dance Education. Elise also spent summers studying with the American Ballet Theatre, The Washington School of Ballet, and the Briansky Saratoga Ballet Center. As a high school senior, she was invited to join the professional company at Ballet New England. Elise has been a part of Ballet New England's summer dance faculty as both a teacher of ballet and character dance. She graduated from the University of Utah in May 2007 with a B.F.A in Ballet with emphases in Performance, Teaching, and Character Dance. While a student there, Elise was a member of Utah Ballet where she performed works by Bruce Caldwell, Attila Fizcere, Heather Grey, David Keener, and Conrad Ludlow. As a member of the Character Dance Ensemble under the direction of Richard Wacko, Elise traveled and performed in Vancouver, British Columbia and Beijing, China. She has also performed with the Utah Opera.

Angela Klemmer

Ms. Klemmer started dancing at Corinne’s School of Dance at the age of 2.  In 1999, she began her ballet training at Ballet New England’s Center for Dance Education. From 1997-2006, Angela attended numerous dance competitions and won many Top Soloist Awards all over the East Coast and Canada. After graduating from Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in 2005, Angela moved to New York City to pursue her training in dance at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. After attending a Rockette Experience Workshop, she was invited to become a Rockette Teacher Assistant for the Experience Workshops and Summer Intensives from 2005-2007.  In July 2007, Angela performed in a hip hop music video choreographed by Dante (Shaun Royer). Recently, Angela moved back to her hometown in Strafford, NH and is currently teaching dance and a member of Ballet New England’s professional company.

Allison Duke

Born in Rochester, NY, Allison began dancing at the age of 3.  She continued early training in Massachusetts and Indiana.  In high school, Allison danced at Ballet Theatre Workshop in Portsmouth, NH under the direction of Mihailo Djuric, Susan Duffy and Christine Jacques Simes.  At BTW, Allison performed a variety of principal and soloist roles including, Snow Queen and Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker, Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote, Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, as well as in many contemporary pieces.  Allison spent summers studying at The Rock School in Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, where she worked as a resident advisor.  In May 2006, Allison graduated from the University of Utah with a B.F.A. in Ballet and a B.A. in News Writing.  At Utah, she trained with Conrad Ludlow, Sharee Lane, Maureen Laird, Jane Wood Smith, Carol Iwasaki, Barbara Hamblin and Attila Ficzere.  In 2006, Allison interned with Pointe magazine’s editorial department and later danced as an apprentice in Portland Ballet’s The Victorian Nutcracker.   During the winter of 2007, she interned with Boston Ballet’s marketing department.  In addition to teaching and performing at BNE, Allison also works as a contributing writer for local newspapers and Pointe magazine.

Caitlin Campbell

Growing up in Maine, Caitlin received her ballet training from Ivy Forrest, Michelle Cox, and Andreii Bossov. She continued her highschool education at St. Paul's School, where she gained further dance training from Rebecca Wright, and graduated with a distinctions in Mathematics and Dance. Caitlin also spent summers studying with Joffrey, American Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Austin.  After attending Skidmore College for two years, Caitlin decided to pursue more dance training and opportunities in New York City, where she danced with Ellison Ballet. Caitlin is now dancing with Ballet New England for their Nutcracker season.

Cara Connolly

Born on Long Island, NY, and has spent much of her time training both there and in New York City.  Her technique has been shaped primarily by Maggie Black and furthered by Pat Monaco and Christian Holder.  Originally working with Marcia Lasser on Long Island, she went on to dance at Studio Maestro with Deborah Wingert, Francois Perron and Fabrice Herrault.  She has also studied at Huntington Ballet Theatre, The School at Steps with Leslie and Ethan Browne, and with Diana Cartier.  Cara has performed the roles of Snow Queen and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, as well as principal and soloist parts from Coppelia, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Raymonda.  She has also been featured in several contemporary works, including choreography by Karla Wolfangle and William Forsythe.  Cara has spent summers training at The Boston Ballet, The Washington School of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre's NY summer program, New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA), and Joffrey Ballet School.  This is her first season with Ballet New England.

Sarah Purcell

Sarah Purcell began her dance training at age seven in Jackson, Tennessee, where she grew up.  She danced with Ballet Arts, Inc. of Jackson for seven years before joining Ballet Memphis’ Junior Company as an advanced placement student.  While in Memphis, she performed with Ballet Memphis in their annual Nutcracker and with the Junior Company in several productions.  In 2007, Sarah graduated from The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in Torrington, Connecticut, where she had studied for two years.  Sarah’s summers have been spent training with ballet master classes in Prague, Czech Republic; American Ballet Theatre; American Repertory Ballet; Colorado Ballet; Nashville Ballet; Ballet Magnificat!; and Texas Christian University. This is Sarah’s first season with Ballet New England.

Jordan Semer

Mr. Semer joins Ballet New England after dancing five seasons with the Dayton Ballet in Ohio. A native of Michigan, Jordan began his training at the age of nine. At the age of 14, he attended Interlochen Arts Academy, an arts boarding school in Michigan.  Upon graduation in 2001, Jordan joined Louisville Ballet in Kentucky where he danced a season prior to joining Dayton Ballet.

Elisa Sanchez Gerasin

Company Guest Artist

Born in Mexico City and received her ballet training at the Victoria Ballet in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She joined the Victoria Ballet Company in 1993 as a dancer and started teaching for beginner students. Elisa attended several Summer Programs such as Cuballet, Boston Ballet, 12th & 13th International Ballet Seminar Lake Michigan, and Pittsburgh Vaganova Seminar. In 1995 Elisa continued her training in Pennsylvania at Point Park College and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School. She then performed with the Colorado Ballet under the direction of Martin Friedman. Returning to Victoria Ballet, she continued to perform and teach for two years. In 2001 Ms. Gerasin joined Jose Mateo Ballet Theater Company in Boston where she danced for one year. In Fall 2001 she started teaching for Ballet Theater Workshop and acted as Assistant Director for two years. During that time she also performed with Portland Ballet as well as Ballet Theater Workshop.

Ms. Gerasin has performed in several productions such as: Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Bayardere, Paquita, Giselle, Pas de Quatre, Don Quixote, Le Fille Mal Garde, Romeo and Juliet, Diana and Action, Night before Christmas, The Wizard of Oz, Raymonda, and many more choreographies and variations.

Kimberly Parkin

Company Apprentice

Kimberly Parkin began her dance training at the age of ten in Russian classical ballet at The Dance Place of Newburyport, MA. Kimberly was part of Joppa Jazz’s Dance Company until the age of fifteen.  Upon her acceptance to Boston Ballet’s intensive division and Ballet New England, Kim left the company to solely focus on her ballet career. Ms. Parkin spent this past summer with American Ballet Theatre’s pre-professional summer intensive program in New York City.
